Who:
Blackacre Historic Homestead is located on nearly 300 acres of state nature preserve in Louisville, KY. Our mission includes preservation of multiple structures built in the 1790s, promoting outdoor environmental education, and sharing Blackacre’s 200+ year old cultural heritage with the community.

What:
Communal buy-local vendors of handcrafted items and informative speakers centered on green living.

Where:
In Blackacre’s community garden, the largest in Jefferson County, totaling 300 plots.

When:
Event opens with a bonfire-lit concert Friday night, and continues with buy-local vendors, guest speakers, and a closing concert on Saturday.

Extras:

Best Bloomin’ Highlights:

-Opening concert Friday night and closing performance Saturday afternoon.

– Vendors’ booths for handcrafted and/or green products, some out of recycled/reclaimed materials.

-Demonstrations of products promoting a cleaner environment, healthier life style and best practices for conserving resources.

-Hands-on workshops: sustainability, horticulture/agriculture, native plant/habitat restoration landscaping and best practice recycling.

-Guest speakers

-Friday admission $10. Get half off with canned good donation to Dare to Care. Saturday admission is $10 (kids are free).

-Designated Lil’ Sprouts play area

 

We need man and womanpower! We expect this event to be HUGE, so we need as many helping hands as we can get. And, as mentioned above, there is immense value in working with us. Your name will be blasted across several social media platforms, mentioned in local publications, and your name and/or logo will appear on our micro website, dedicated to this event alone.
